Beef Recipes

Beef is one of the most popular meats in America. But for all of its popularity, it is still often served without the care and attention it needs to taste delicious. Here are some ideas that will help your to create some wonderful beef recipes at home.

This is one the simplest ways to add flavor and interest to beef. Marinating works best on tougher cuts of steak, like sirloin or flank. Improper use of a marinade on higher-quality cuts like rib eye or porterhouse can actually spoil the meat. So use your marinade with caution.

Marinating is all about preparation. You should let the meat sit in the sauce for at least 24 hours, so start preparing the meat the night before or at the very latest, in the morning before you leave for work. Always, always place your marinating meat in the fridge, letting is soak at room temperature can cause bacteria to develop and spoil the meat.  A well-done marinade is going to add moisture, tenderness and flavor to your beef.

One of the most popular beef recipes that use a marinade is red wine beef. For this you will need half a cup of olive oil, 1/3 a cup or red wine, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, 1/ 4 a teaspoon of black pepper and thyme and two minced garlic cloves.

Simply whisk all of these ingredients together in a measuring cup and the marinade is ready. Place your beef into a plastic bag and pour the marinade on top. This marinade works best when the sealed bag of beef sits in the refrigerator for 6 hours. Always discard the marinade once you have cooked the beef, do not reuse it.
